HIDDEN OPPORTUNITIES IN NEPAL

One billion people around the world are still chronically poor. Agricultural growth and productivity remains central to poverty reduction, particularly in the poorest countries, where a large share of the population relies on agriculture and agribusiness for their livelihood.

Most of the Nepalese youth are migrating abroad in search of employment opportunities and bright future. Most of them blames that instability and insecurity is everywhere in Nepal and have no guarantee of bright future in Nepal. These opinions sound true if we analyses current situation of Nepal in surface. But despite these constraints and insecurity many hidden entrepreneurs based on agriculture are doing well in our country, Nepal. They have proved that there are always hidden opportunities in every unfavorable condition, if we have strong will power to do something with proper aim and determination.

This story of Mr. Manish Thapa will provide some examples of  successful entrepreneurs in agricultural sectors. Read his story to know about success in agricultural sectors and which may become as an example giving inspiration and strength to seek hidden opportunities around. Who knows you might be next successful Nepalese to rank in some good position.

Mr. Manish Thapa was born in Tanahun. He completed his S.L.C. in his local school and shifted to Pokhara for further study. He studied up to bachelor and LIKEWISE other youth he went to Malaysia on 2005 for bright future. He spent three years there and went back to Afghanistan. He came back to Nepal in 2012 and planned for shifting in Nepal itself.

He started his pig farming business in Tokha(a village type place in Kathmandu). He decided to invest few  money he earned during eight years of time in pig farming. Since it was not enough budget for his dream he found his brothers very helpful. His brothers helped him for economic problem. He started his pig farm in low budget i.e. 1.5 lacks. As he was producing pork he decided to open a small meat shop that could sell his pork. He got another advantage. He got lots of relatives who is running guest houses in KTM. He got to sell them his pork. Now it's been nearly two years of time he earns nearly about 1 to 1.5 lacks per month. Besides his pig farming he is now starting organic cultivation in rental land. Now Mr. Manish Thapa is producing pork, organic vegetables, local chicken, local eggs and many more. He started with 26 pigs and now he owe more than 250 pigs, more than 200 local chickens, more than 5 kg per day organic vegetables, more than 20 eggs per day and so on.

“What I am today, it is all because of my father” says Mr. Manish Thapa. What he is doing is a good example for the youth who think there is nothing left in here. He encourages the young generation for what he is doing. we all say "if there is a problem there is a solution for that" but he believes. "IF THERE IS WILL THERE IS A SOLUTION.
